Cigar Humidors

I am very happy with this humidor. It is a well crafted box with a beautiful classy look. The hindges work smoothly with no sign of flaw. There is no gap in the seems and no signs of leak. As a first time humidor buyer I would like to have seen more literature with this product to guide me on set up and use. I was also a little unhappy with waiting for my humidor for nearly a month. In all fairness I am stationed overseas, however I receive other products ordered on line in 7-10 days. This humidor does come with a humifier and a hydrometer which work fine, but they are very cheap devices. I felt compelled to purchase better working devices to replace them. Regardless, I would still recommend the purchase of the humidor if you need a small desk top humidor to store 10 to 25 cigars. Considered the cheap devices as freebees. The Hygrometer is worthless. The Humistat is a foam filled type unit. Humistat works well. Just remember on the initial charge do not use a 50/50 solution. 1 part glycol to 6 parts distilled water and it will hold 70% humidity for a month per fill. The actual Humidor is fantastic. Seals nicely. Provides a slight spice to cigars like true Spanish Cedar should. Just replace the crap Hygrometer with a good digital and it's a perfect unit.

This isn't the best Humidor in the world, but you can't beat the quality for the price you pay. It's large and sturdy, plus it looks good on my end table. The adhesive on the included hydrometer is a little weak, but some crazy glue took care of that in a jiffy. I would definitely recommend this for someone who is looking for a way to store and display their cigars tastefully but doesn't want to spend a whole lot of money.

I purchased the product for my 50 stogie humidor. I was amazed when I put it in the humidor with cigars and checked it 6 hours later... humidity was regulated at 71%! I have a caliber III hygrometer so I know it is accurate. After 1 week of having the drymistat in the humidor, it constantly reads 70% humidity. I even checked the high and low humidity that is recorded on the caliber and it read 70%. Easy to use product... you just have to add tap water. Low maintenance as well... fill 1-3 months depending upon conditions. I paid 8$ at JR Cigar.. very inexpensive compared to other humidifying products.

The Drymistat does its job exactly as it should. Other reviewers have more experience, so I defer to them for details of effectiveness. By the way, the thickness of the tube is ~the same as a cigar tube, and it is 5.5" in length. The instructions advise placing it in the center of the humidor.

There is perhaps some understandable confusion because the instructions could be written better, and that is why a few reviewers had problems with leaking: "Some evaporation may occur while sitting on the shelf. Remove wrapper. Add plain tap water to the Fill line. Put perforated cap on tube and wait for water to be absorbed. . . . A mixture of Propylene Glycol and water has been specially formulated and initially charged into the crystals."

Great product. I've had four in my 100 cigar humidor for a few years now. I keep one in my portable humidor, and have one in a zip lock bag for those times when I end up with more cigars than my humidor holds. I have never had a dry or moldy cigar using this product.

The rule of thumb for one tube per 25 cigars seems like a good one.

I agree with another reviewer that on various vendor's websites, it looks like the purchase price is for a box of tubes instead of a single tube.

For the guy who said they simply didn't work, that seems strange to me, since my experience is they are very effective and simple to use.

I was skeptical about buying this at first, but decided to go for it. The price was perfect and so was the size.

Size:
You can fit around 20 of my size cigars. I choose to go for the longer fattier ones. If the cigars were smaller you could easily fit more.

Seal:
The seal on this is superb. In my opinion it is almost airtight.

Finish:
The finish was flawless and matched my desk, dresser, and night stand. I was just hoping it would be similar but it worked in my favour. The hinges are not what they appear to be in the picture, they are brass but just a regular old hinge.

Accessories:
Next, it came with a hygrometer and a humidifier. Both work and did the job well. But as a more than average smoker I had to get a Digital hygrometer and better humidifier for it. Which I also bought from this seller.

This was a cheap humidor, and I was not expecting perfection whatsoever when I purchased it. I was, however, expecting a decent seal and actual Spanish cedar lining.

The seal was akin to an open submarine hatch at 20,000 leagues.

The Spanish cedar siding visible in the product photos was actually the most microscopically thin cedar veneer I've ever seen, glued onto MDF backing. The sides of the lid are bare finish, meaning lacquer is directly exposed to the humidity and your cigars.

I wouldn't sell this humidor to Saddam Hussein.

I needed a small humidor for my RV while travelling. For this, the product seems to work fine, although the included hygrometer doesn't indicate that the humidity is high enough for cigars. Also the product arrived with a small scratch on the top. Cigars that I've stored in the product are fine, so again it meets my needs. By the way, except for the scratch, it is a good-looking humidor.
